Background: Why Traditional PPM Tools Failed the Business
In 2018, Microsoft launched Project for the Web (called initially Modern Project), which was rebranded as Planner Premium in August 2025. At that moment, it became clear that Project Online no longer represented the future of project portfolio management.
Since 2018, Project Online and Project Professional have effectively stopped evolving. These tools were designed primarily for advanced project managers who required complex planning capabilities — but not for business-wide strategy execution.
As a result, they failed to address key organisational challenges:
- digitalisation of corporate strategy
- project portfolio and program management
- idea and initiative management
- integration of multiple project management tools
- real-time transparency for executives
At the same time, Microsoft launched Power Platform, combining Power BI, Power Apps, and Power Automate into a single low-code ecosystem.
This shift enabled the development of flexible, business-driven management systems rather than rigid planning tools.
What Is LEO PPM?
In April 2022, LEO Consulting began developing LEO PPM — the first Ukrainian solution focused on strategy execution and project portfolio management.
The first implementation went live in August 2022 at FOODCOM (https://velmart.ua/), a retail group operating the Velmart, Velyka Kyshenia, and Express chains.
Today, LEO PPM is successfully used by 13 companies across agro, pharma, IT, banking, retail, manufacturing, construction, and non-commercial industries.
LEO PPM is not just another PPM tool. It is a single management hub that connects:
Strategy → OKRs → Portfolios → Programs → Projects → Tasks

All development and change initiatives are managed within one coherent ecosystem.

LEO PPM has built-in Power BI reports.
What Business Problems Does LEO PPM Solve?
In most organisations, the problem is not strategy — it is execution.
Based on our experience, over 90% of companies face the same issues:
- strategy exists in presentations, not in daily operations
- projects are scattered across different tools
- no single source of truth
- no clear link between annual goals, portfolios, and daily work
- lack of transparent analytics on real progress and priorities
LEO PPM is designed to address these challenges, providing a unified system for managing company development.
What Makes LEO PPM Different?
- Built for the Modern Business Context
LEO PPM reflects real organisational structures, decision-making models, and strategic cycles of modern companies — not abstract “global templates”.
- Fast Time-to-Value
Most clients receive an operational MVP within 4–6 weeks, with full production rollout in 3–4 months.
- Flexible Management Models
LEO PPM adapts to how your company works:
- Waterfall
- Agile
- Hybrid
- OKR / KPI
- proprietary internal methodologies
- Native Microsoft 365 Integration
Teams, Planner, SharePoint, Outlook, Power BI, Azure AD — everything works out of the box, inside your existing ecosystem.
- Lower Total Cost of Ownership
Power Platform–based licensing makes LEO PPM significantly more cost-effective than enterprise PPM platforms.
